Child Care

Posted: Thu, April 18, 2013
In most communities, including New Hampton, the demand for child care far exceeds supply and a high provider turnover rate creates a constant need for new providers. Iowa Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) provides providers an entry point to the child care field and helps providers continue to grow and succeed. CCR&R provides training and consultation services that support the child care provider's ability to achieve and maintain regulatory status in good standing.

On May 4, 2013 from 9-noon, Iowa Child Care Resource & Referral will be at Mercy Medical Center to answer any questions you may have and to assist you in starting the process of becoming a child care provider.

Iowa Child Care Resource & Referral is a program to support quality child care throughout the State of Iowa. CCR&R is also available to assist families in selecting child care providers who best meet the needs of a child and their family.

http://www.cleanenergyresourceteams.org/blog/grants-usda-cover-25-renewable-energy-project-costs-tight-deadline

The Fiscal Year 2013 Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) was announced this morning!  This grant and guaranteed loan program helps agricultural producers and rural small businesses reduce energy costs and consumption and helps meet America's critical energy needs.

Agricultural producers and rural small businesses are eligible to apply.  Grants are available to reimburse 25% of the costs to purchase and install renewable energy or energy efficiency improvements.  The guaranteed loans can cover 75% of the costs up to $25 million.  Grants are also available to reimburse the 25% of the costs of a feasibility study for renewable energy projects up to $50,000.

Please note that there is approximately $20.8 million available nationwide which is substantially less than in previous years.  We expect the program to be highly competitive this year!

In order to be considered for Fiscal Year 2013 funds, complete applications must be received by the appropriate USDA Rural Development Area Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on the following dates:

For renewable energy system and energy efficiency improvement grant and combination grant and guaranteed loan applications - April 30, 2013.

For renewable energy system feasibility study grant applications - April 30, 2013.

For renewable energy system and energy efficiency improvement guaranteed loan only applications - July 15, 2013.
